Liberia has two seasons-rainy and dry. The surf conditions will
mainly depend on the season. Each has its advatnages.
Rainy Season-
May-October (roughly)
Swell-larger, ranging from 5-11ft.
Wind-July and August can bring choppy seas with moderate to
heavy on shores, before this mornings may still be glassy
Comments-If you are surfing Robertsport during these months,
especially July and August, you will probably need to stay at
least a week to see a period where the winds let up and the
conditions get epic. Going for just a few days during rainy
season can be a gamble. Having said this, May and especially
October have great swell and much better chances of glassy, off
shore conditions.

Dry Season-
November-April (roughly)
Swell-Small long period and medium wind waves (3-6ft.)
Wind-Nearly every morning brings a light off shore breeze, but
afternoons can get a bit choppy and blown over.
Comments-Off shore in the mornings, nice low tides, and the
reforming of sand bars make absolutely stunning conditions at
many Monrovia area beaches during dry season. You will rarely
find a morning without decent surf. Robertsport can be good,
but the long period swells are generally not adequate for its better
points. Both 4-5 foot long period and wind waves can make the
beach breaks incredibly consistent and fun. November and April
can bring some nice sized long period swell coming out of and
going into the rainy season and can make the trip to Robertsport
worthwhile in these months. Afternoons during dry season (from
about 13:00 on) often get blown over, so be sure and get up
early and get some waves in.
